The pre-mountain zone of Maule offers unique characteristics, from its privileged landscapes to the native arboreal specimens all of which provide for incredible hiking.
Los Queñes :This seaside resort that is found in a premountinaous region and is one of the leading spots for adventure tourism.
Romeral : Location famous for its cherry production.
Termas de San Pedro :For Summer time outings.
Lagunas del Teno :For those who enjoy salmon fishing this is the place to visit.
Radal-Siete Tazas :It is here where the Rio Claro gives life to seven magnificent waterfalls such as “El Velo de la Novia ” 50 fts. and “ El Salto de la Leona ”, on top of this, due to rock formations, each of the seven waterfalls fall one after the other forming pools after each of the seven drops.
Parque Ingles :Picnic and camping areas and adventure tourism.
Vilches : Known for its lush vegetation, native forests, diverse wildlife and the presence of the Rio Lircay. There are also important archeological findings at the Parque Gil Vilches (Vilches Alto) such as “Piedras Tacitas” ,one can also find traces of indigenous existence in this area among the rocks which show multiple concaves on there surfaces.
El Enladrillado : Found in the lower slopes of El Paine hill and el Valle del Venado
El Colorado-Paso Nevado :The international route will take you to the banks of Lago Colbun where you can also visit nearby towns.
La Suiza and Armerillo :Here you will find a place filled with natural beauty among the mountainside landscape. Located in the middle of the Andes Mountains and the river Maule, Maule lagoon which is known for its icy waters and famous for its excellent salmon and trout fishing.
Lago Colbun and Lago Machcura :Both are excellent places for aquatic sports. You can also visit the nearby localities, go on thermal spring circuits, buy local crafts, and visit colonial towns and museums.
Termas de Catillo :To get to Copihue you can take the pan American south or you can go by the road in front of Parral. These thermal springs can only be visited in certain seasons.
Plaza de Armas - Talca Here you can find exotic arboreal specimens and beautiful French sculptures. Don't forget to visit Talca'a markets which can be found on the street 1 Sur, to the west you can find the municipal market which has been declared a national patrimony. There you buy typical Chilean craftsmanship and enjoy one of Chile 's typical refreshments “mote con huesillo”.
Museo O'Higginiano :This colonial museum exhibits objects and furniture from the colonial age and it is in this house where Bernardo O' Higgins, the founding father of Chile , lived until the age of ten. This house is also if great importance because it is here where the National Independence Act was signed in 1818.
Villa Hulquilemu :Found only 8 km from Talca this villa is surrounded by large patios, a park and a beautiful state house that was built last century. Nowadays it as used a cultural center where we can find wine cellars, a religious arte museum, antique machinery stable and an excellent restaurant.
