Requirements: Applicants to the University of Talca must posses a high school degree or its equivalent. Students also must have obtained the minimum test scores that are annually required by each program by the Council of Rectors of Chilean universities. For 2006 students must obtain an average of 500 points on the PSU (university Selection Test), this average is calculated by the result of the scores both in the Language and Communication and Mathematics tests.
The University of Talca allows students to apply to a maximum of 8 academic programs.
SPECIAL ADMISSION -For those who possess a professional degree or academic degree.
Requirements: Applicants must possess an academic or professional degree which has been issued by a university or professional institute. Required Documents: Certificate of professional or academic degree diploma:

In order to apply via this admission your request must be sent to the Dean of the chosen career and you must pay a university tax which can be obtained in Talca , 2 Norte # 685 or at the Curico campus, Camino Los Niches.

-Students who have studied abroad
Requirements: Applicants can be either Chilean students who have studied abroad and have obtained their high school degree in Chile or foreign students. Required Documents: High school degree or its equivalent, which has been properly legalized by its country of origin and legalized within Chile, if this document is in any other language than Spanish it, must be officially translated.
In order to apply via this admission your request must be sent to the Rector and you must pay a university tax which can be obtained in Talca , 2 Norte #685 or at the Curico Campus, Camino Los Niches.

- Transfer requests
Requirements: Applicants that request transfers must have passed the first year of their prior courses. The Academic Commission sets the annual quota of admission for transfer students.
Required Documents: Original certificate from the Institution that the student is transferring from, this document certifies that the student is able to continue their studies during the academic period of which the transfer request has taken place and the date in which the student began their studies.
Original certificate from the Institution the students are transferring from, all grades obtained from courses that have been passed and failed including the last academic period.
Accreditation of minimum test scores requested by the university for registration.
Legalized course and program syllabuses of passed courses.
Each Academic program may request additional documents or a personal interview.
Once the application is accepted students must pay the registration fee of the academic semester of which he or she has been accepted into, once this is completed students must go to the Academic Registration Office with the following documents:
Original copy of the certificate from the Institution that the student is transferring from issued no longer than thirty days prior to request. This document certifies that the student is able to continue their studies during the academic period of which the transfer request has taken place and the date in which the student began their studies.
Copy of the certificate from institution of origin, dated no longer than thirty day of courses taken and their grades, including the last academic period.

All documents and tuition fees must be presented in the faculty to which the request pertains to.
-Part-time Students
Part-time students may be admitted as students who are interested in taking only some of the courses taught in the university.
In order to apply your letter of request must be sent to the Rector.

-Gifted Students
There will be a special process for students that have gifted talents in either artistic or athletic aspects, for these students there are a maximum of 20 vacancies. In order for students to be considered they must have graduated high school in the year 2005 and they must have rendered and obtained the minimum score, set by the university on the University Selection Test (PSU).
Students that apply to these vacancies must accredit their status of gifted students, in the areas mentioned above, through documents and must present them to the Academic Commission.
